Ardmore Eye Care

Dr. John Ormando was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Seton Hall University in 1997. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry in 2001. Shortly after graduating, Dr. Ormando partnered with his best friend and classmate from optometry school, Dr. Scott Colonna. Together, they purchased a practice in Providence, Rhode Island, which they named Westminster Eyecare Associates. Under their leadership, Westminster has grown to become one of the largest single-office optometric practices in the country. In May 2019, Dr. Ormando and Dr. Colonna expanded their footprint with the acquisition of College Hill Eye & Optical, also in Providence. This was followed by the purchase of Smithfield Eye & Optical in Smithfield, Rhode Island, in December 2021. In December 2023, they acquired a multi-location practice, now operating as Cranston Eye & Optical and North Providence Eye & Optical, located in Cranston and North Providence, respectively. Most recently, in November 2024, they expanded beyond Rhode Island with the acquisition of Ardmore Eyecare in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. In addition to their clinical operations, Dr. Ormando and his partner also own Mandalay Optical Labs, a wholesale lens distributor serving the broader eye care industry.

Dr. Hall has an extensive background in ocular disease, contact lenses and optics. Dr. Hall graduated from St. Joseph’s University in 1980 with a B.S. in biology. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1985 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. In 1986 he completed the competitive residency program in primary care at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. ​ Dr. Hall is: a member of the American Optometric Association, a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry an Examiner for the National Board of Optometry.
